So we were at Mac Mall last night and were strolling through Nord's (we park right there) and when we walked by the shoe dept, the manager stepped out and recognized the groms. He asked when we were coming back and I told him "doesn't look promising" and that we hadn't seen a hint of in-stores for a while. He told us they can put Heelys right in the front of the store with neon arrows pointing to them but people seems to buy them 10fold when we went there and a few days afterwards. He also said they hadn't gotten any replenishments in quite a while but he still has a nice stock of GTs and Shimmers. It was nice being recognized... the kids got a kick out of it.
It looks like those days are long gone. I wonder what is in store for the future?! Anyone have a clue??? |

| Why not just arrange one at the store with you and the groms and/or other family that heels? Is there a rule that says you can't do a demo without the EMM arranging it? |

I don't even wanna get the wife started with that. If we did it on our own, she'd have a news crew there along with 400 kids from every neighboring school in the area. She never half-arses anything. But if something were to happen... someone falls, cracks their skull or something... I sure as heck wouldn't wanna be responsible for it.
Mainly, we were just happy the guy at Nordy's knew us. He was hella nice everytime we were there which wasn't like the other Nords we hit (where no one knew what was goin on and we seemed like an annoyance to them). It was also nice to know that we made a difference. When we came, they sold Heelys. Any other times... not so much. Kinda makes you feel like you've accomplished something. |
