They should make you get a heeling license. You have to take a test and if you have enough balance and control on your heelys, you get an ID that you can show people saying you can heel. |

| I thought my friend was just kidding. Thats pretty sweet. Costco now has Heelys, buy them here, use them here! I love Costco. Me and my bros found an Arcade Ultimate 100+ or something and it had 100+ games. We found a MegaMan game and we played it forever. |

| Yeah, Finish Line has been seeling heelys for REALLY cheap prices. I got my Escapes from Finish Line too. They're my favorite pair of heelys so far. Very comfortable. Only problem is the Megas bustin. >_< |

I was thinking that my weight (over 250) will have an adverse affect on the wheels over time, especially once I get going. Do you think I should order some replacements in advance, or will I notice degradation before it's too late? I mean, will they "blow out"? |
I think weight has a lot to do with it, but they'll blow out on anyone. I'm 255lbs and they last me a week for casual heeling and one hour at a skate park. I'd say get some replacements.
You can find the best place to get replacements here. They were actually on sale even cheaper today. Not sure if it's lasting though. I got 10 pairs for about $115.
When the wheels are starting to bubble up they will sound like this and once they actually detach from the core(bust), they will look like this and this.
Solutions right now are Megaverts, which are homemade by sanding down and glueing together skateboard wheels(this is really hard and only worth it if you want to do vert), or Mega Rumbles which come with the new Rumbles Heelys that are like hiking boots. We dont know much about Mega Rumbles yet cause no one has them but they kinda look like Fats, just bigger. Hopefully they are as durable. I should have mine sometime next week. |

| AgeMeansNothing wrote: | | Interesting. So, fats are somewhat more durable/longer lasting than Megas, but megas are more stable due to their additional width? |
Basically, yeah. Fats will last you a whole lot longer but they will be uncomfortable and they will be harder to do tricks on. Megas will be wider giving you more balance, bigger with skateboard bearings giving you more speed and running you over cracks smoother, and better actually allowing you to do vert.

It would appear that Heelys did not plan for adults, or heelers of adult size, to actually use them much. With all this stuff about tricks, one would think that they'd come up with a better wheel design. If DIYers can mod skateboard wheels to work in Heelys, then why can't Heelys come up with a more durable wheel?
Maybe it's a conspiracy to sell more wheels.

Seriously...x_x
There is rumor that Megaverts will go on sale sometime in 2008, but it's nowhere near definite. I think they are probably just sitting back and enjoying the extra money from busted wheels. That wont last forever though. This 10 pairs is probably my last purchase of megas. I'll get sponsored with them and get megas free, or I'll wait till they make better wheels.

I think one of my wheels made that popping noise, but it was just a single, loud POP! I thought maybe it was a piece of my wood floor cracking under such localized weight. I guess now it could be either one. It didn't happen at all on Friday, when I did the most heeling to date, though.

You'd be able to tell if it's bubbling up. You can see the bubbles. They usually start on the edges of the wheel. |
