It's probably because lots of girls prefer things that aren't "pretty pretty princess" and wear the "boys" models! I know after I turned 7 I could no longer be forced to wear frilly pink anymore!! Even as a kid, I totally would have chosen something like ninjas, or slashes! My sister on the other hand would have wanted a pair with rhinestones! The really pink models probably have a smaller demographic to sell too. Also, if ppl are super girly, they're probably not very into heelys anyway!

Funny you mention that: I let a young relative choose her own style of Heelys and laces from my collection and I thought she'd relieve me of the pretty pink laces I can't really ever see myself wearing, but no she took the skull and crossbones "buccaneer" laces I myself liked the best too. LOL. And I thought she'd like a pair of pink and white heelys, but she went for mostly black. Smile

I guess it's kids first asserting their independence by not being what adults expect them to be, which is a vital step in them becoming their own person, even if the parents don't like it.

Of course, this leaves me stuck with some girly laces and shoes LOL - I guess I'll just have to pluck up the courage to wear pink LOL.

Back on topic tho: Ooooooh. Ahhhhhhh! ME wants it, my precious!

I find it weird how HSL seems blatantly sexist: no girl styles with grindplates and always giving the girls lower-rated bearings (like 5's instead of 7's)

Suprised you girls haven't given them hell over it? Smile

I think it's rather disgusting how early we try to shove kids into "expected" behavior because of gender. Personally, if I have any, and my boys want pink or my girls want transformers, I say LET THEM HAVE IT!!! I know that some girls are drawn to the whole "pretty pretty princess" thing, but it feels so shallow to me, and like it breeds a mentality of helplessness. I would want my daughters to be strong, independent women who can THINK for themselves, and to be able to still have that beautiful feminine side too (if they want it!). And I'd want my boys to be strong independent men who can think for themselves!

WC

PS ME, you could pull off the pink if you wanted, it's a matter of carrying yourself with confidence and being able to tell ppl to F-off! There's a faculty member in our dept who wear pink shirts all the time and no one gives him crap!

lol, the thing is.......it's more acceptable for girls to be like boys than boys to be like girls. At least without being called gay XD
I mean...I have a strong feminine side (as some close friends tell me lol), but I don't show it all the time b/c of what everyone else will think.....

Anyway...I'm into the whole "be yourself and think for yourself" thing, I hate it when girls put off the "pretty princess" image and act like an airhead b/c they think it's what guys will like.

Kain,

I totally agree with you! Men should be free to show whatever side of themselves they want to! And it's SOOOO annoying to deal with airhead girls trying to impress guys!!! I always have to have Scrubs moment and go into fantasy land to karate chop them, before remember reality is not as fun!

lol yeah.....I like girls that are into guy stuff, and aren't afraid to be themselves instead of being these stupid plastic models all the time.

speaking of which.....I think the view of what a "supermodel" is should be changed completely. no one really looks like that and is being themselves at the same time :\
