OK cool. Thanks for the advice. Yeah, is always wise to almost "start from scratch" when you start a new session or move. I had to do that with 180s for ages, by reminding myself how to do backwards first etc, but now I can just pull 'em out of the hat whenever I feel like I love that feeling and can't wait till my grinds are the same. |

That's not entirely true...
Even us lighter folk hurt ourselves...
I ripped my knee and sprained my ankle enough to throw me almost 5 months out of skating... Even now I can feel my leg give way when I do 1 too many footy stalls |

Now that work's over and I've got time to think, I'd also like to add:
@Tuna: I am sorry to hear about your wrist tho buddy. I have been up to my neck in it the last few days, so I must apoliogise if I seemed a little insensitive above. Hope your wrist isn't too bad and gets better soon mate.
I myself fell trying a grind from a new angle yesterday (neither frontside not the other, I sort of ran at the pipe end-on and turned myself 90 degrees in the air so that my feet would be right - or at least that was the intention). I landed on my elbow and the elbow was fine because I had my pads on, but the force and my weight sent my shoulder into the side of my head and about gave me a concussion. My shoulder has hurt ever since but luckily I don't think it's broken or dislocated or whatever, just maybe pulled or sprained something in it, and I'll have to lay off the weightlifting for a week or so.
So I guess that goes to show, no matter how much gear we wear and how careful we are, sometimes we are still boung to get some injuries. We just have to do our best to minimise the risk, and pick ourselves up and keep trying till we get it right
@Tuna: In a way I guess we're lucky we injured arm-related things rather than foot/leg, because this way we can still practise flatland etc (provided we don't fall on the injured limb). |

Actually, the way that I fractured it, the wrist protecters wouldn't have helped. it was a lose lose situation. I wish you could sign my (hot pink!) cast. |

Print this out and get someone to cut it the right size and stick/glue it to your cast (make sure the glue is non-toxic tho eh?)
How's that little fishy?
P.S., I changed my shoutbox text colour in honour of your cast - just to let you know I'm sending happy thoughts to help you recover - I don't wear this colour for just anyone LOL |
