Well, hi, I've kinda been here a lot and I have a few questions which are important for my decision of should I buy Heelys.

I live in the middle of the earth, with high taxes and things here are pricey (compared to our allowances), for example, torches here are like 150$ which is stupid, so I'll buy them in US, the problem is...the wheels.

I really want to heel and all, and I know I can be very active in this forum and all, but if I want to do that I need a solution which will help me keep using wheels for a long time or a less costly solution...so I have 2 choices:

A - I need to know which wheel is the most durable one.

B - I need to know how to make street/vert megas.

Please answer all the above by any meaning.

PS - Megaverts go along with Fats?

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion (and just 1 humble opinion), megawheels are the only street worthy wheel.

MegaVerts, which could be available in 2008 - are needed for most vert if you're over 130lbs.

There ARE such things as hard Fats wheels. But even if you COULD find it, why would you use it? Its not good for walking and street (click click click). And the Megasize wheels are still much better for vert.

Fats is good for general indoor and flatland trix. Fats are also more affordable models.

Well Mega wheels work for a month or two (if you're about 80 pounds like me) doin about an hour or two a day, then u get farting wheels which are annoying but you can ride then to a point without goin insane.

id recommend fats

my megas break in 1 to 2 days and im 110 lb.

not worth it unless you get megaverts in which case itd be slow because megaverts are for vert...

i mean if you were sponsered and got megas at the snap of your fingers id say megas, but believe me, fats are better in the whole durability issue

That's weird. I'm about 135lb and MegaWheels work fine for everyday. I rarely get bubbles unless I try to use them for vert. I only use MegaVerts for ramps.

If you have a Megawheel that breaks on you (or has bubbles) BE SURE to call HSL. They will replace it. But most of all - they need to hear it from the public.

Well, thanks for the tips.
I'm 99 lbs (45 Kg, I like the kilos better =]) and I want to consider the option of making my wheels permanent, because I can't buy it regularly.

So I still don't have the answer, is it possible to make street/vert wheels out of skateboard wheels in the Fats models, and if so, will the 688 bearings will work?

Thank you.

It might be possible to make them to fit fats, but there wouldn't be much point...the whole point of making megaverts out of skateboard wheels is to make them harder and more durable which fats already are.

So what's wrong with HSL? why did they make Megas soft? wouldn't that make them loss some speed? And if Fats are already strong what's the problem using them in verts?

The air bubbles aren't caused by the softness, it's because of the lack of a good seal between the inner core and the urethane.

As for WHY they make them soft, well, you'd need a pair of Megaverts to find out why. (very hard/bumpy ride, especially on tile floors))

So, if you want to make a good street wheel (more durable than Megas), what material should you use?

1040 carbon steel.

(OK, ok.. you probably don't want to use that. I'd love to see what would happen if someone tried.)

You mean the core is made out of carbon? What's the problem with that? Sounds like a good idea to me...

Is that for Team Heelys only or something? I called in and just got shut down. They told me to go to the site for tips on avoiding air bubbles or something like that. I even told them that it was my second pair that busted.

Megas will last me a week if I'm lucky. Fats are the way to go for durability BUT they kill if you wear them longer than 4 or 5 hours.
