Awesome! Another adult heeler! We only have 4 or so... =P
I think heeling is somewhat easier for smaller kids to pick up on than it is for adults. Stick with it though. Once you learn to propulsion switch it's the greatest thing ever. |
Well, there is
Slicer
Mcro
Kage
Me
HappyKat
Age Means Nothing
Your_Biggest_Nightmare
And if I'm missing someone... well... you get the drift... We have roughly 10 or so adults... |

Mcro just mods. I've never seen a video or anything. Rarely even a post.
Never heard of Your_Biggest_Nightmare.
Which leaves Slicer, Kage, Maverick, and AMN. Soon to be Happykat as well which will be 5. =D |

| Yeah but that's for parking lots and crap. When you're indoors, propulsion switch it what's awesome because you can stay on your wheels the whole time. |

Yeah, I guess........it gives you a little boost, so you can go around places inside. That's what me and Korey do to go around Ollies. But you have to kickswitch to get speed for vert |

I think we should get back on topic and give her better ideas on how to heel
it was wierd with me as soon as i came out of the shop and could just heel it was like a miracle but then i gave up for a few months and i started doing tricks and then i found this forum and the people on here have helped me a lot so if u keep practicin and look on here for advice you'll learn soon because it takes evry1 a different time to learn it took my sister 2 months to learn she can only just heel forwards but im trying to teach her some tricks now but even if it takes u 2 months it dusn't matter because once you learn it is like a drug so addictive |

Point of fact. It took me forever to get started.
But its also because I couldn't go far that I invented Kickswitching.
So .. just keep at it!

I got a pair of cheap Air Shoes for my 28th B-day (I found them for $10 at the Goodwill). It took me about 2 days (about 4 hours of skate time) to learn to go forward. I think it would have been easier with better wheels. I ordered a pair of Rumbles (shoudl get them today!) and I can't wait to try them out! The pair I've been riding sucks, they don't go fast or very far and they're VERY noisy.
I'm not really very athletic, so if I can do it, anyone can! I learned by first balancing on the wheels holding my counter top. Then I took them Costco, put some heavy soda flats into the cart, and tried the step, plant, kick technique while holding the cart. This was less scary, cause I had something to hold. If you do that, go after 6pm, cause it's pretty empty then. Holding the cart got me used to the feeling of rolling on my heels. After that, I started heeling in my kitchen, aiming toward the countertops, so I was only going about 2-3 feet at a time until my balance got better. Then i just kept trying it int he halls at work till it was easy. Now I'm working on learning with the other foot forward, I can do it, but it's not easy yet! It's fun at work, cause no one expects a 28yr old woman to randomly start heeling!!!

Dont worry keep practising and you'll get it. |
