I took both boys to Arbor Heights 360 in Kent, WA this past Monday. It was a school waiver day for some reason, so we took advantage and hit the park early. No one was there when we got there. A few people came and went while we were there, but by noon, it was getting to be pretty busy with skaters, so we called it a day. We got about 2 hours of heeling around, so it was a good day. Again, I was holding the camera the whole time, but I did most of what the boys did, except get down in the kidney bowl. I hope it's an enjoyable waste of three and a half minutes for anyone who watches. Smile

Another new vid at another new park!

Concrete Disciples came through big time! This one wasn't much further away than other parks we'd been to, but it was the other direction. It was WAY worth it. This park has something for everyone, and we all really liked it. As usual, my boys got more and more adventurous, and I just kind of tried not to fall too much. Wink

Yep! Nikolas, the younger one going down that massive hill, has Torches. Got him sz5 for his b-day last week. He practiced a little grinding, but I don't think he'll get into it until he sees me doing it, too, therefore believing that he is capable of doing it, and doing it better than me. Wink I'm on the hunt for sz9 Torch for Alex. Hopefully I can get some for him for summer, since we'll probably be going to parks more.

hey, if AJ almost traded them for some toxic torches, I'm sure AMN would do fine with them XD

the grindplates are sketchy, but ok....the main thing that's worn down is the brakes.

the grindplates are great, the top of teh shoe, fine, the grip and brakes are dead and you kind of need those to stop and walk.

I appreciate the offer, Kain, but I'm definitely looking for new, or at worst, GENTLY used. These would be for Alex, and he very much uses his brakes.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we actually went skating 3 times at 3 different parks. We hit the Allan Yorke park on Saturday, Sammamish Commons on Monday, and then on Tuesday when Allan Yorke was rained out, we went to the Brannen Skate Park again, where they had learned to drop in and carve. I didn't get any video of the stuff on Tuesday, but I did get a lot from Sammamish Commons on Monday. It's a pretty neat park, but about twice as far as the other parks in my area. We probably won't go there again unless we're up there for another reason. It was cool, but not cool enough for the drive. We have a good selection in the ones that are closer to home anyway.

Check out Heeling at Sammamish Commons:

Forgot to post this earlier. It's my grinding practice video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pElHYXCB4ME
Yes, this is my first real contact with a rail on grind plate Heelys (Torch). The speed at which I got comfortable with it, however, was my eventual downfall. After recording this video, I was very excited about grinding. I went back outside while this video was processing on my laptop to grind some more. I decided to try with my left foot first, but rather than building up to it as I did with my right foot first, I just hopped on... and slipped... and fell... onto my right foot... which got twisted really badly. I'm sorry that I didn't get THAT on video, as I'm sure some people would find it humorous. Rest assured that it hurt a LOT. I thought it was fractured, so I went to the doctor. The X-Ray, thankfully, was clear. It's just a bad sprain. Unfortunately, that means I'll be out of commission for a few weeks. Sad
Anyway, I hope those who watch my vids will enjoy this one, even though it's a little long and boring.
